Each year Design Vlaanderen awards the Henry van de Velde trophies to designers in different disciplines. On 19 Janaury 2010 they did so for the 16th time in the Flemish Parliament. The award has been named after the famous Flemish painter, designer and architect Henry van de Velde.
Design Vlaanderen had chosen Helena Schepens, whose work in The Netherlands is represented by Studio 925, to design and make the trophies.
Designing a trophy is no easy job. Helena has succeeded in making one which the receiver can show with pride and enjoy as a work of art for years to come. Her design will be used for the next five years.
