In the fall of 2009 Elizabeth Auriol Peers came to The Netherlands to get a training by silversmiths in Schoonhoven. This in cooperation with the Foundation Silver in Motion.
After completing the metalwork course at London Metropolitan University, she had further training at the Bishopsland workshops, situated in the beautiful countryside of South Oxfordshire. Since its foundation in 1993 Bishopsland has acted as a bridge for young graduates (jewellers and silversmiths) between college and the harsh realities of the commercial world. Elizabeth then felt she needed more practical training before establishing herself as an independent silversmith.
She started of by working in the workshop of Paul de Vries in the Watertower. She then moved on to the workshop of Jan van Nouhuys. Besides other work, she made the object James, and the Double-sided Bowl, which you can see in the pictures.
This last object was selected to be exhibited at the V & A Museum during the London Design Week.
